Golf & Vino La Rioja ‘marries’ with Zest Golf to launch its new Golf Passport

 05 December 2023
Golf & Vino La Rioja 'marries' with Zest Golf to launch its new Golf PassportZest.Golf has presented its third digital Golf Passport in partnership with Golf y Vino, the association for the promotion of golf and wine in La Rioja and Rioja Alavesa. Thanks to this initiative, the Rioja golf destination can now be booked in an online passport with options that include the four courses in the area: the Logroño Course, Golf Sojuela, Rioja Alta and Izki Golf.

“We are very excited to partner with another destination to boost regional tourism and golf through our Passport. Visitors can now easily book two-, three- and four-course round trips and in real-time when planning their getaways to La Rioja,” explains Oliver Dury, CEO of Zest.Golf.

La Rioja was voted a “Golf Destination to Discover” by IAGTO members and has established itself as a worthy alternative for golfers looking for gastronomy, wine, culture and excellent nightlife.

“Our passport is gaining traction among regional tourism associations, first with Visit Cascais and then with Barcelona Golf Destination, and now we have added the main region of La Rioja. We are excited to play a role in the growth of tourism and bring more value to these regions,” says Jo Maes, Chief Commercial Officer at Zest.Golf.

The Zest.Golf passport offers golfers and distribution channels the ability to create and book different combinations of golf courses in a single transaction. Backed by the Zest.Golf payment solution powered by Stripe Connect, this patented technology automatically books tee times and collects and distributes payments across golf courses, without Zest.Golf touching the money, for reliable, frictionless efficiency for consumers and businesses.

“We want to show the world that our region is a great alternative to consider on your next golf trip and enjoy all that La Rioja has to offer,” says David Bedia, director of Logroño Golf and member of the board of directors of the Golf and Wine Association.

“We know we are a niche destination and we have serious credentials when it comes to gastronomy, wine and also golf. The Spanish Championship of Professionals is a recurring event at the Campo de Logroño, an event attended by Jose María Olazábal and Miguel Ángel Jiménez. Izki was designed by the great Seve Ballesteros and is undoubtedly one of his best. Sojuela and Rioja Alta provide a different experience that makes our region diverse,” adds Bedia.

The Zest.Golf Golf Passport is available for multi-course packages and is designed to help regions easily promote their golf offers online.
